The NJE module allows NJE nodes to transfer jobs using a Barr SNA or SNA. Setting up NJE requires configuring the host and the remote computer. The extent to which you configure the host and the remote computer depends on the complexity of your NJE network. Select the type of connection you will be using and follow the listed steps. These steps were developed to provide minimal interruption to your host system and must be followed in order.
You must be a member of the local Administrators
group to operate the NJE Configuration Utility. If you are assigned the
Configure - NJE user
access right on the computer to which you are trying to connect, but
are not a member of the Administrators
group, the NJE Configuration Utility will operate in read-only mode.
If you are not an Administrator,
you must also be assigned the NJE Console
user access rights to access NJE
Console.
Before you begin, review the Determining the communication paths topic to determine how many Barr nodes you need to define at the host and on the NJE computer, how many entries you need to make in the BARR/NJE routing table, and how many PUs you need to define for Barr SNA and the SNA gateway.
